Nominated as best feature documentary at the AFI / Discovery Channel Silver Docs Festival, this New York Times Critics Choice television documentary is a rare look behind the frame with world press award-winner Ron Haviv. Ranked the third most influential photographer in the world by American Photo Magazine, Haviv and other prominent journalists from New York Times, AP and Newsweek document the fall of a multi-ethnic society in the Balkans and reveal what can happen anywhere when fear turns to hatred. All photographs that appear in Eyes of the World are from Ron Haviv’s Blood and Honey: A Balkan War Journal hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “One of the best non-fiction books of the year.” Photographs in this film have been used to support the establishment of the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague to prosecute war criminals from the former Yugoslavia and have been submitted as evidence during the trials. Photographs in this film helped prompt the indictment of President Milosevic, the first acting head of state to be indicted by an international criminal court.
